This particular Becoming is a word stolen from Wilfred Bion - He had a concept of “O”.
So we stole the word. In that musician way of pinching a high intellectual idea / term and using it for some music. Yet there is a sense of becoming in our music. Things do change without seeming to do so - it’s not evolution or growth, more a constant state of micro change. Like the dust on my bedroom floor. The music came before the name. What you hear here was culled from many hours of improvisation. Nothing was composed or worked out. We just did it live to stereo 2track then edited. A healthy mix of old and new machines at play. Wobbly analogue synths and algorithmic digital drum machines - via dumb groove boxes of the 90s.

James S. Taylor

After 12 years of music making, i left the group Swayzak to concentrate on my ambient / experimental project Lugano Fell. I released two CDs and somehow restarted in music. Several performances, installations and general audio experimentation followed during which i met Cedrick Eymenier. I played at his Son De Salagou festival in France. Working in a more free and artistic way has reignighted my passion for sound and music. I continue with Lugano Fell and begin a new project with Becoming, a duo of myself and Cedrick wherein we explore deep, trippy repetitive music for maybe dancing.
Key Performances : SF MOMA (San Fransico), PS1 New York, Glastonbury (UK), Bergheim / Panorama Bar (Berlin), Hotel de Sully (Paris), Le Rex (Paris), Picnic Electronique (Montreal), Fabric (London), Sub Club (Glasgow), Benicassim Festival (Spain), Robert Johnson (Offenbach), Nitsa (Barcelona), Cave 12 (Geneva)
